Korea Truth Commission is an independent editorial and research resource about modern Korean history, historical records, human rights and public memory. It offers introductory essays and guides to help readers ask better questions of historical evidence.
Our purpose
We connect historical questions with practical ways to read documents, compare accounts and locate public resources. The site is intended for students, educators and interested readers beginning their own research. It is not a repository holding original archival collections.
How we approach evidence
Articles distinguish a documented fact from an interpretation or unresolved question. We prefer traceable institutional resources, identify the limits of a collection and link to sources where readers can continue. Testimony is treated with attention to consent, context and the dignity of the people involved.
Independence and the domain
This website is not a government agency, statutory truth commission or official claims body. Historical uses of the name Korea Truth Commission do not establish an institutional affiliation with this publication. We do not claim to represent earlier organizations that used the name or to have inherited their records.
The current publication concentrates on historical inquiry and education. It does not campaign for parties, issue legal findings, accept compensation claims or offer a channel for submitting personal testimony.
